At 338 AM HST, radar and automated rain gauges indicate a trend down in rainfall over the the Puna and Kau districts. Rain was falling at a rate of 0.5 to 1 inches per hour with the heaviest showers moving offshore along the coastline of the Puna district. Additional heavy rain is possible along the coastline through the early morning hours. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flooding in drainages, streams, rivers, roads, properties, and other low-lying areas. Public road closures possible in some areas. Landslides are possible in steep terrain. Hawaiian Paradise Park, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Volcano, Glenwood, Mountain View, Hawaiian Acres, Orchidlands Estates, Pahoa, Wood Valley, Pahala, Punaluu Beach, Kawa Flats, Naalehu, Fern Forest, Eden Roc, Fern Acres, Kalapana, Kurtistown and Ainaloa.
