Description:
At 1245 AM HST, radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain
falling over the Puna and Kau districts. Rain was falling at a rate
of 1 to 3 inches per hour with the heaviest showers shifting over
the coastline of the Puna district. Flash flooding is ongoing.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.
SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.
IMPACT...Flooding in drainages, streams, rivers, roads,
properties, and other low-lying areas. Public road
closures possible in some areas. Landslides are possible
in steep terrain.

Hawaiian Paradise Park, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Volcano,
Glenwood, Mountain View, Hawaiian Acres, Orchidlands Estates,
Pahoa, Wood Valley, Pahala, Punaluu Beach, Kawa Flats, Naalehu,
Fern Forest, Eden Roc, Fern Acres, Kalapana, Kurtistown and
Ainaloa.
Instruction:
Stay away from streams, rivers, drainage ditches, and culverts, even
if they are currently dry.
