...Warm, Dry and Windy Conditions Expected Tuesday... .Dry conditions will continue across the region over the next several days. Today, winds from the northwest will increase to 15 to 25 mph in the afternoon, with gusts around 35 mph. The winds, combined with continued very dry conditions will allow for the rapid spread and growth of any fires. Wednesday, RH values are forecast to drop into the low to mid teens as westerly winds gust around 25 to 30 MPH. The National Weather Service in Goodland has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from 11 AM this morning to 8 PM CDT this evening. A Fire Weather Watch has also been issued. This Fire Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity is in effect from Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 080 Hitchcock and 081 Red Willow. * TIMING...For the Red Flag Warning, from 11 AM this morning to 8 PM CDT this evening. For the Fire Weather Watch, from Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday evening. * WINDS...West 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 15 percent. * IMPACTS...Unpredictable fire behavior. Any fires that develop may rapidly grow and spread out of control.
