Description:
At 843 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Norfolk, or 13 miles southeast of Great Barrington, moving east at 35
mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Sheffield, Norfolk, Otis, Canaan, Sandisfield, Falls Village,
Winsted, Ashley Falls, New Marlborough, Colebrook, South Norfolk,
Sodom, South Canaan, Konkapot, Wangum Village, Gomorrah, Mill Brook,
Montville, Southfield, and Taconic.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
