At 340 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles east of Punkin Center, or 28 miles south of Limon, moving northeast at 15 mph. HAZARD...Tennis ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Trained spotters reported 2 inch hail. IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Boyero and Punkin Center.

Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. This storm has produced dangerous hail and is capable of producing damaging winds. Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Heavy rain is occurring with this storm and may lead to flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM MDT Monday for a portion of east central Colorado.
