Description:
At 557 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Yuma, moving
east at 30 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Trained weather spotters. At 555 PM MDT, half-mile to one
mile visibility was reported due to blowing dust 8 miles
south of Yuma. Pea sized hail was also reported.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
roofs, siding, and trees.
This severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of
northwestern Yuma County, including the following locations...
Clarkville.
Instruction:
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
This thunderstorm will produce strong winds resulting in areas of
near zero visibility in blowing dirt. Use extreme caution if you must
travel and be alert for rapidly changing visibility.
This thunderstorm is producing accumulating hail, which will make
driving hazardous, similar to snow or ice. If you must travel, be
aware of rapidly changing road conditions.
Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
