At 706 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 11 miles south of Stratton, moving northeast at 35 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Trained weather spotters. At 655 PM MDT, quarter sized hail was reported 15 miles south of Vona, CO. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. This severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of south central Kit Carson County. This includes the following highways... Interstate 70 in Colorado between mile markers 423 and 429. Highway 385 near mile marker 174.
