* WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 25 below expected. * WHERE...Anchorage. * WHEN...Until 11 AM AKDT this morning. * IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 25 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 20 minutes. Frostbite and hypothermia are likely if exposed to these temperatures. Very cold temperatures can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The coldest wind chills will occur this morning, with temperatures warming up after 9AM.
Instruction: 
Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside. If you do not have heat in your home or lack shelter, you can call 211 or visit alaska211.org for assistance locating appropriate shelter from the cold.
