Description:
At 1100 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Greenway, or
near Piggott, moving east at 50 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Paragould, Blytheville, Kennett, Caruthersville, Piggott, Gosnell,
Corning, Portageville, Hayti, Steele, Leachville, Rector, Senath,
Brookland, Monette, Marmaduke, Reelfoot Lake State Park, Crowleys
Ridge State Park, Lake Frierson State Park, and Tiptonville.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 55 in Arkansas between mile markers 65 and 72.
Interstate 55 in Missouri between mile markers 1 and 31.
Instruction:
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 500 AM CDT for eastern
Arkansas...southeastern Missouri...and west Tennessee.
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
storm shelter or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
