Description:
* WHAT...For Cold Bay, southeast winds 30 to 45 mph with gusts up to
80 mph. For other locations, southeast winds 20 to 35 mph with
gusts to 60 mph.
* WHERE...Aleutians East Borough, including Cold Bay.
* WHEN...Until 6 PM AKDT this evening.
* IMPACTS...High winds may move loose debris, damage property, and
cause power outages. Travel may be difficult.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Gusty southeasterly winds are peaking across
the far southern Alaska Peninsula early this afternoon. Strong
winds are expected to continue through late afternoon before
slowly diminishing. The strongest winds are expected around Cold
Bay.
Instruction:
People are urged to secure loose objects that could be blown around
or damaged by the wind. Prepare for the possibility of widespread
power outages. Use caution if you must drive.
