* WHAT...Flooding caused by an ice jam is possible. * WHERE...From Crooked Creek to below Napaimute. * WHEN...Through Wednesday evening. * IMPACTS...Ice jams may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, sloughs, and other low-lying flood prone locations. Water may impound behind a jam which may cause flooding several miles upstream. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At Noon AKDT Tuesday May 5th, the River Watch team observed breakup in the Kuskokwim River from the mouth of the Holokuk River to Napaimute. Ice downstream of Napaimute was observed to be solid and holding. This may result in water rises. Now is the time to take precautions. When possible, move items to higher ground and prepare your community for possible flooding. - Http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
