* WHAT...Flooding caused by an ice jam is occurring. * WHERE...Kuskokwim River near Aniak. * WHEN...Until 9 PM AKDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. River or stream flows are elevated. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7 PM AKDT, The River Watch Team reported an ice jam on Kuskokwim River approximately 16 river miles downstream of Aniak. The ice jam is causing river levels to rise upstream. - Flooding is occurring over the west end off the runway, and over the back road leading to the barge landing and gravel pit northwest of town. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood - If you live near or along Kuskokwim River near Aniak stay alert and be prepared to take action.
