- At 429 PM AKDT, As of Sunday evening, we have not heard of
any impacts from the Fortymile River ice jam. Latest
observations from the Walker Fork gauge show that the river
levels dropped Sunday morning and have slightly risen Sunday
afternoon, the small rise was most likely due to snow melt,
or a combination of snowmelt and an ice jam down river. River
levels appear fairly stable around 17.4ft. River levels
should gradually go down tonight as the pace of snowmelt
slows.
