* WHAT...Flooding caused by an ice jam is expected. * WHERE...Fortymile River near Chicken, along the Taylor Highway. * WHEN...Until 1000 PM AKDT Monday. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 936 PM AKDT, Saturday afternoon, the Fortymile River near Chicken and along the Taylor Highway appears to be undergoing an ice jam. As of Saturday evening, we have not heard of any direct impacts from this. The Fortymile River gauge reports indicate rises in water levels from an ice jam near the advisory area. Impounding water due to the ice jam will cause rapid river rises upstream. - As we hear more information, we will update this advisory as needed. If you are traveling along the Taylor Highway and see flooding from this, please notify authorities. - For Walker Fork 40 Mile at Taylor Hwy: At 8:50pm the stage was 18.9 feet.
