At 746 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Bankhead Lock And Dam, or 13 miles north of Holt, moving east at 45 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Southwestern Birmingham, Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Bessemer, Hueytown, Midfield, Brighton, Lipscomb, Lake View, North Johns, Tannehill Ironworks State Park, Abernant, Bull City, Bluff Park, Splash Adventure, Patton Creek, Hoover Metropolitan Stadium, Ross Bridge, Bankhead Lock And Dam, and Binion Creek Landing.
