* Until 815 PM CDT.
* At 710 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Forkland, or
9 miles northwest of Demopolis, moving east at 45 mph.
THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM IN GREENE, HALE, AND NORTHERN MARENGO
COUNTIES.
HAZARD...Three inch hail and 70 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be severely injured.
Expect shattered windows, extensive damage to roofs,
siding, and vehicles.
* Locations impacted include...
Demopolis, Marion, Greensboro, Uniontown, Forkland, Boligee,
Newbern, Faunsdale, Vaiden, Walden Quarters, Thornhill, Arcola, Dug
Hill, Tishabee, Greensboro Municipal Airport, Duffys Bend,
Sawyerville, Coatopa, Radford, and Old Spring Hill.
Instruction:
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
This storm is producing destructive winds and large damaging hail.
SEEK SHELTER NOW inside a sturdy structure and stay away from
windows!
Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning
are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is
one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder,
you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for south
central, central, southwestern and west central Alabama.
