At 632 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Emelle, or 10 miles north of Livingston, moving east at 55 mph. HAZARD...Golf ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Emergency management. IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Demopolis, Livingston, Eutaw, York, Greensboro, Moundville, Forkland, Akron, Boligee, Union, Gainesville, Epes, Newbern, Emelle, Panola, West Greene, Thornhill, Boyd, Sawyerville, and Knoxville.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for central, southwestern and west central Alabama. Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. This is a dangerous storm. Prepare immediately for large destructive hail capable of producing significant damage. People outside should move to a shelter, inside a strong building and away from windows. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
