Alabama...
Bayou Sara At Saraland affecting Mobile County.
For the Bayou Sara...including Saraland...Major flooding is forecast.
* WHAT...Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
This approaches the flood of record.
* WHERE...Bayou Sara at Saraland.
* WHEN...Until late tomorrow evening.
* IMPACTS...at 8.3 feet, Bayou Sara Avenue floods east of river
gauge. Numerous houses and streets flood east of the railroad
between Bayou Sara and Norton Creek.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 7:30 PM CDT Friday the stage was 8.8 feet.
- Forecast...The river has crested and is expected to slowly
fall overnight. The river will fall below flood stage
Saturday afternoon.
- Flood stage is 4.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
9.3 feet on 09/01/2008.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
