At 1106 AM HST, radar indicated heavy rain continued to impact the<br />
Puna and Kau Districts along the southeast slopes of the Big Island.<br />
Rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour. Additionally,<br />
Emergency Management reported that Highway 11 was closed at Kawa<br />
flats due to flooding and multiple other roads are closed as well.
HAZARD...Heavy rain producing life threatening flash flooding.

* At 1055 PM HST, radar indicated heavy rain over the island of<br />
Maui. Rain was falling at a rate of 1.5 to 2 inches per hour. The<br />
heaviest rain continues to fall over the south-facing slopes and<br />
coasts from Maalaea Bay to Kihei to Makena to Kipahulu.<br />

At 835 PM HST, radar indicated heavy rain over the island of Maui.<br />
Rain was falling at a rate of around 2 inches per hour. The heaviest<br />
rain is falling over the south-facing slopes of West Maui and Mount<br />
Haleakala from Kaanapali to Kihei to Makena to Kipahulu. Emergency<br />
Management also reported flooding in Kihei with South Kihei Road<br />
closed between North Kihei and Uwapo Road.
