The National Weather Service in Amarillo has issued a Fire Weather Watch for breezy winds and low relative humidity, which is in effect from Monday morning through Monday evening. * WINDS...For Sunday, Southwest 25 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. For Monday, South/Southwest 25 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

Gusty winds are expected over the next couple hours flowing out of the backside of a cluster of showers and thunderstorms. Southeast wind gusts could briefly reach the 40 to 50 MPH range as these winds move through. The winds will then subside after the Midnight hour. Unsecured outdoor objects may be blown around and smaller tree branches may break.

A cold front is moving southeast this evening, recently reaching the Montana and Wyoming border along Interstate 90. This front is producing wind gusts up to 50 mph. Winds will remain breezy into tonight. These gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Sudden wind gusts may impact drivers along Interstate 90.
