At 144 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Homer to near Allerton to near Ashmore. Movement was northeast at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Paris, St. Joseph, Georgetown, Catlin, Oakwood, Chrisman, Sidney, Homer, Ridge Farm, Oakland, Newman, Ogden, Kansas, Ashmore, Fairmount, Sidell, Westfield, Fithian, Hume, and Broadlands.

At 205 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was over Brownsville, or near Douglasville. This storm was nearly stationary. HAZARD...Heavy rain. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Heavy rain may cause temporary street flooding especially in poor drainage areas. Locations impacted include... Douglasville, Powder Springs, Austell, Hiram, Lithia Springs, Sweetwater Creek State Park, Brownsville, and Mableton. Motorists should slow down and be prepared for possible loss of control due to hydroplaning.

Conditions are favorable for the development of funnel clouds, which could potentially become landspout tornadoes. Landspout tornadoes tend to be short lived and less intense than the more dangerous supercell tornado counterparts. Conditions are not currently favorable for the development of damaging tornadoes.
