...SNOW FOR THE NORTHERN HALF OF THE PANHANDLE THROUGH
WEDNESDAY...
Snow continues from Angoon northward as the main low moves closer
to the panhandle bringing more moisture to the area. The snow is
expected to last through the morning before starting to diminish
around midday. Near Skagway, the snow is expected to linger there
into Wednesday evening before diminishing.
* WHAT...Snow. Additional snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches.
* WHERE...Glacier Bay, Eastern Chichagof Island, Cape
Fairweather to Lisianski Strait and City and Borough of Juneau.
* WHEN...Until noon AKST Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Travel will be difficult. The hazardous conditions
could impact the morning commute.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heaviest snowfall rates are expected into
Wednesday morning, with snowfall rates of an inch an hour
possible.
Instruction:
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water
with you in case of an emergency.
People are urged to prepare their property before the onset of
winter weather.
