...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in
Kansas...Missouri...
Little Osage River at Fulton affecting Bourbon County.
Little Osage River near Horton affecting Vernon County.
Sac River near Caplinger Mills affecting Cedar County.
For the Little Osage River...including Fulton, Horton...Minor
flooding is forecast.
For the Sac River...including Caplinger Mills...Minor flooding is
forecast.
* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and minor flooding is
forecast.
* WHERE...Sac River near Caplinger Mills.
* WHEN...Until just after midnight tonight.
* IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, flood waters affect low lying areas near
the river including farmland along Highway N and between Highway W
and Caplinger Mills. Cedar Creek...a tributary of the Sac River
backwaters and floods portions of Highway 39 and south of Cedar
Springs.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1:45 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 19.5 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 16.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 1:45 PM CDT Tuesday was 22.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river will fall below flood stage this evening
to 12.7 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then rise
to 14.0 feet tomorrow morning. It will fall to 9.4 feet
Thursday morning. It will then rise to 12.4 feet Friday
morning. It will fall again and remain below flood stage.
- Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
19.6 feet on 04/11/1979.
