Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...A portion of central Illinois, including the following
county, Sangamon.
* WHEN...Until 1145 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 904 PM CDT, emergency management reported heavy rain and
flooding across roadways, including East Capitol Avenue and
Cook Street under overpasses, in the advisory area due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing. Between 1.5 and 2.5
inches of rain have fallen.
- Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
expected.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Springfield, Sherman, Rochester, Abraham Lincoln Capital
Airport, Illinois State Fairgrounds, Jerome, Southern View,
Leland Grove, Grandview, Spaulding and Clear Lake.

Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
