The National Weather Service in Hanford has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect from 5 AM Saturday to 11 PM PDT
Sunday.
* AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zone 298 Indian Wells Valley.Fire
weather zone 299 Kern County Desert.
* WIND...FOR THE MOJAVE DESERT WEST WINDS 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS
UP TO 45 MPH EXPECTED. FOR THE MOJAVE SLOPES WEST WINDS 35 TO 45
WITH GUSTS UP TO 70 MPH.
* HUMIDITY...10 TO 20 PERCENT MINIMUM RELATIVE HUMIDITY.
* HIGHEST THREAT...FAST-MOVING GRASS FIRES.
* IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
Instruction:
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
